Rocky Boy
Rocky is doing well at Dr Youngblood's office. He is eating well & has a good temperament. I have a friend who will make a donation to pay for his boarding but we need to move him soon because he does not like being confined & this vet charges about $13/day for indoor/outdoor run.
The vet can find no physical reason for Rocky to be so thin. So...the SOB that had him starved him. He is a 2 out of 9 on the scale (0 is starved to death & 9 is severely obese). This just infuriates me!!!
I'm hoping to get the police to charge the owner because the ACO won't.
Rocky is between 8-11 yrs old, HW negative, not neutered. Vet says he's in good condition other being extremely thin-no heart murmur.
Anything you ladies can do to help this sweet old man out will be greatly appreciated! Transport help is available.
Thanks,
Michelle

Rocky was an owner surrender. Well, sort of. The animal control officer in Alabama told the owner he wouldn't prosecute him for animal cruelty if this senior Pyr was turned into the local shelter, a gassing shelter, which might have been better than seeing him slowly starve to death. A rescue volunteer pulled Rocky and brought him to her vet who can find no physical reason for Rocky to be so thin. He is a 2 out of 9 on the scale (0 is starved to death & 9 is severely obese).
What Rocky Needs: Full blood panel to confirm that it's o.k. to neuter him at this late date, neuter costs, sponsor or donors to pay his boarding until he can gain enough weight and can find a foster or adopter to take him for the last years of his life. Estimate $690 includes 2 months boarding/$5 day $300, neutering/additional bloodwork and vaccinations)$200, bath, transport and travel health certificate $190.
